What the biggest tree you can mill?
Generally we can mill logs up to 4ft (120cm) in diameter. (Maximum size may vary, based on the shape of the tree)
How much do you charge?
Each tree and location is unique, so costs can vary. Our standard rate is £395 per day, covering mill equipment and supplies. Additional charges apply for services like bringing in 'Bob' the loader, essential for larger trees.
Can I keep the timber?
Your tree, your timber! Our main service is transforming trees into useful timber. Yet, if you wish to rescue your tree from the firewood shed and repurpose it, we're happy to explore that option too!
Will you take the timber away?
Typically, the timber is stacked nearby during cutting. We only remove or relocate cut timber if you prefer. (Additional fees may apply)
Do you have machinery to help?
We have 'Bob', our skid steer Bobcat loader. Bob is great for move logs around and handling heavy cut slabs. Bob only comes out to play if needed.
Is location an issue?
We can mill logs in difficult to access locations, gardens, or open ground. However, sites must be safe for us to work.
How long does it take, how much can you cut in a day?
There are many factor that decide how long a tree or log will take to mill into timber. The size, species and location of the tree greatly affect the time we need.
Can you fell the tree or do other tree surgery?
At this time we are not licensed to fell trees. However we have a great network of professional arborists that we can recommend.
How far do you travel, is there an extra charge for travelling?
Our coverage are is South East Wales, but every now and then we like to stretch our legs a little!
